The Worst Part About Doing a Liver Cleansing Diet? Find Out the Easiest Way to Do a Healthy Detox

The worst part about doing a liver cleansing diet in the real world is avoiding all the processed foods. Okay, a liver cleansing diet is a must for anyone living in a big city on a western diet but how do you cut yourself off from all the processed food that is so bad for you?

The ‘bad stuff’ lines every supermarket shelf, has been round for years and is so cheap. There’s too much temptation lying around and too many ways to cop out of doing any kind of detox.

I also find all the different tonics, pills, herbs and supplements confusing, expensive and frankly a bit of a liver cleanser let down.

I've never had outstanding results from anything I've tried and I've tried a few. So knowing you need to go on a liver cleansing diet is one thing – having the discipline to avoid all the junk food around you is something else. Cutting off from the stuff we’ve all grown up on and is all around us is the hardest part of all.

Natural detoxification is made to sound so much harder than it is - so let’s take it down a notch – a liver cleansing diet is a staying away from any garbage in your life. You can start with your liver but it might be better to begin with your head.

Apart from all the processed foods, that companies have made taste great but are nutritionally poor, we’re exposed constantly to hundreds if not thousands of different toxins from pollution, chemicals, heavy metals, pesticides, drugs and hormones. Our bodies are remarkable factories that use the good stuff to build our bodies and dispose of the rubbish. But is your liver in overload or on strike?

We toss pollutants at our livers all day everyday from inferior coffee to beef burgers stuffed with bread fillers, sugars and colorings as well as pollutants in the air, air conditioning, paint and cleaning fumes that put a further strain on our livers and bodies.

No wonder I feel tired most of the time – but I don’t want to live on a deserted island to do my liver cleansing and I can’t afford to take time off from my job or book an exclusive overpriced spa who will tell me the same thing as my mother – ‘put that cake down!’

I need a liver cleansing diet cleanses my liver by naturally cleansing excessive toxins, not break the bank or make me a social retard.

I know it’s fashionable to go on some strict fast and suck on celery juice and fill yourself with supplements but I might try something a little different – moderation….

Okay, so this is what I’m going to do – to flush toxins out of my body.
1. Drink lots of fresh, filtered water, vegetable juices and eat fresh fruit and not too much of anything. Apart from anything else I don’t want the sugar from fruit to ferment in my stomach and make me bloat.
2. Start with a gentle body detox diet and build up gradually. I want to make a lifestyle change so nothing too drastic of or extreme or I’ll rebel and stop. So easy and simple.
3. Plan the start time of my liver cleansing so there are no birthdays, anniversaries or holidays to catch me unawares. I’m planning for success not failure.
4. Clear out garbage from my apartment – my fridge, pantry etc. I don’t have a lot but I don’t want to be tempted with out of date Doritos because they’re there.
5. Buy great, fresh food that I will enjoy so I’ll keep going. I like variety too or I get bored and grab take out.
6. See how I go with the liver cleansing diet and then opt for a whole body cleanse starting with a kidney cleansing or gallbladder cleanse – the idea of a colonic freaks me out.
7. Avoid overeating. Not so easy but I figure with all the extra fiber in my diet I won’t feel too hungry. Also by making breakfast my largest meal it should keep the sugar cravings away.
8. Keep busy nights so I don’t find myself trying to eat the handle off the fridge.
9. Get more sleep to reduce stress and not think about what I’m not allowed to eat
10. Avoid fatty and processed foods. Yes, it’s a biggy but I think I’m up to the challenge.
11. Lay off the sauces - often the food's fine until I put so much sauce on it I've tripled the calories and the junk. Go grilled, broiled, steamed and lean.
12. Sweat more; exercise, saunas, run – all help to detox faster burn up the stress and some time.
13. Not listen to my friends - what do they know anyway?

A liver cleansing diet is a great way to maintain a healthy liver – it’s vital for good overall health and it’s what I need. Variety is important so finding good detox ideas is a must otherwise the food addictions could kick in. There are some liver detoxing sites that I’ve found really help.

Yep, I’m going to clean the rubbish out of my with a healthy detox get more sleep and even lose a few pounds. Can’t wait!

Liver Cleaning Diet Scams! A body detox diet costs next to nothing if you do it right!

I used to get really confused about the best way to do a liver cleansing diet. Who wouldn't?

I mean, there are shelves of liver cleansers, digestive enzymes, herbs and detoxing tonics promising you a whole body cleanse, healthy detox and body detox diet often in less than 24 hours. Not gonna happen. Sure, it's a good start - but a total liver cleanse - I don't think so.

And what do I have to show for all the health spin?

Shelves of half empty bottles that I won't throw out because they cost so much… nagging pricey reminders I still need to find a decent liver cleansing diet.

One thing I do know is that a liver cleansing diet is probably one of the best things you can do for your body - ever. The liver helps remove toxins from our bodies – okay, most people know that - but I found something you may not know. The liver also removes damaged red blood cells, stores vitamins and minerals, and actually produces these vitamins and minerals for use throughout our bodies.

That’s a lot of responsibility! And I don’t know about you but I don’t exactly help my exhausted liver with my less than perfect, all right, poor diet, drinking alcohol, never enough exercise or sleep. I have moments when I’m good – but will my liver ever catch up?

I know I have to do something when my skin looks pasty grey, I’m forever waking up tired and I catch every cold and flu that’s hit town. As my liver slowly grinds to a halt from overwork, the level of toxins in my body increases – and will go on increasing until I get over myself and get on with actually doing a liver cleansing diet and not just reading about it.

So back to the ever increasing cost of a liver cleansing diet – well, surprise! A whole body cleanse shouldn’t cost the earth. In fact, a good healthy detox costs very little if you use common sense….

I'm not saying don't use any supplements or products to help you along - let's not be stupid - but don't rush into it because you have to get your body cleansed right now! But be practical - take the emotion out of the 'need for lean' and think about it.

First, if you eat food that normally takes four or five hours to digest, yes, were talking mainly red meat and heavily fried foods, and before that time is up eat more of the same again, your body won’t have time to break down the first lot of food let alone the second round.

Waiting for your food digest doesn’t cost money – it’s discipline… can’t buy it in a bottle - unfortunately.

Second, what supplements are you planning to take during your whole body cleanse? The wrong supplements are a waste of money. But some supplements are a good investment if not necessary to the process. Be sure to take a fiber supplement. This will help soften and clear waste from your body easily. Also include supplements like dark green superfoods. These superfoods absorb toxins from your blood stream and at the same time give your body extra protein and nutrients.

A third, inexpensive piece of advice for your healthy detox is body work. This includes anything from body wraps to massage therapy, colon hydrotherapy or lymphatic drainage – and let’s not forget exercise. These will help remove toxins and waste out of your body. Body work can free toxins from your body, softens waste buildup and removes it.

The body is an amazing machine that is not meant to break down or get old – if you treat it right… Your organs do all the hard work to cleanse and detoxify your body. But, you have to keep the tools that help your body cleanse in good order.

So, a good liver cleansing diet is really at best a healthy detox. Follow these few simple rules, go on line to find the right cleansing supplements or visit your local health food store.

My last piece of advice – which I learnt the hard way - if you find a product and the instructions tell you to eat anything you want during your liver cleansing diet - put it back. It’s like saying you can lose weight while eating as much as you want. There are lots of good liver cleansing diets or body detox diets around. Look for a natural detoxification diet where ever possible; more chemicals will just tax your liver even more.

Good luck – good liver cleansing diet!
